Local land charges

Personal searches

You can find the information that would be requested in a CON29R search by undertaking a personal search of each subject area.

This can involve:

  • searching online
  • sending requests to individual service areas
  • asking us to undertake the personal search for you – called an 'assisted personal search'

Undertaking a personal search yourself

Personal searches are free, but charges may apply if you send requests to individual service areas.

When you undertake a personal search yourself, it means you must do all the work. We will not:

  • issue an official search certificate
  • give advice on how to undertake your personal search

For commercial premises you can either carry out a personal search yourself or you can request a local land charge search, for which fees and charges apply.

The tables below show where to search online and which individual service areas to contact for each piece of information.

If you would like us to carry our an 'assisted personal search' to help help you search for some of this information, details are provided at the end of this page.
