Animal licensing fees
The following fees and charges apply from 1 April 2024.
Animal establishment licensing fees, excluding zoos
For new or renewed licences, the grant fee can either be paid:
- upon application – the full amount of grant fee will be refunded if the application is refused
- following inspection, when the licence is ready to be issued
In addition to the fees in the table below, you must pay vets fees where applicable to your type of licence and activity.

Zoo licensing fees
The application fee for zoo licensing is £1,600.
There is a further charge for our appointed vet's inspection, payable after the inspection takes place.
Dangerous wild animal licensing fees
The application fee dangerous wild animal licensing is £530.
