Tommy Mansfield, schoolboy international footballer
Tommy Mansfield was Thurrock's first schoolboy international footballer
He won 2 caps playing for England in matches against Scotland and against Wales in the 1931-1932 season.
At that time he was a pupil at Arthur Street School Grays. He later also played for Grays Athletic and for Southend.
For much of his working life he was employed at Thames Board Mills in West Thurrock.
The widow of Tommy has kindly loaned a number of items which have been on display at various times in Thurrock Museum. These include:
