Draft Local Development Order 2025
A Local Development Order (LDO) removes the need to obtain planning permission for certain kinds of development in a specified area.
In February 2024, we adopted the London Gateway Logistics Park Local Development Order 1.5 (2024). This expires either:
- in February 2025
- when Local Development Order 2 is made, if before February 2025
LDO 1.5 was an interim LDO, pending the development of LDO 2.
Local Development Order 2 (LDO 2)
LDO 2 is currently subject to public consultation.
LDO 2 will allow up to 733,776 square metres of commercial floorspace at London Gateway Logistics Park. Of the 733,776 square metres of commercial floorspace, 412,326 square metres is already completed or committed under LDO 1 and LDO 1.5.
This means there is 321,450 square metres remaining to be consented.
The purpose of LDO 2 is to build upon the success of LDO 1 and LDO 1.5 by removing the need for developers to make planning applications, enabling a streamlined planning process.
