Temporary Prohibition or Restriction of Traffic
Walton’s Hall Road, Butts Lane, and Mucking Wharf Road
1) The Borough Council of Thurrock, in exercise of their powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other powers, has made an Order the effect of which is to: -
- Prohibit any vehicle from travelling along Mucking Wharf Road from its junction with Butts Lane for a distance of approx. 20m in an easterly direction.
- Prohibit any vehicle from travelling along Walton’s Hall Road from its junction with Mucking Wharf Road for a distance of approx. 100m in a southerly direction.
- Prohibit any vehicle from travelling along Butts Lane between its junctions with Mucking Wharf Road and St Andrews Way.
2) The purpose of the Order is to enable BT to carry out cabling works.
3) The alternative route for southbound vehicles on Butts Lane is London Road westbound, A1013 Stanford Road, Buckingham Hill Road, and Walton’s Hall Road, and vice versa for northbound vehicles. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses within the closure as well as Mucking Wharf Road.
4) The Order will come into force on Monday 14th October 2024 at 19:00hrs. Works are currently scheduled to take place on Monday 14th October 2024 for one night between the hours of 19:00 on 14th October and 05:00 on 15th October. Exact dates however will be always specified on https://one.network/?tmi=GB34209475 , It only applies to those days and times when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
5) It is expected that the works will be completed within the above times, however the Order will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.
6) If the works are not completed within 18 months, the Order may be extended for a longer period with the approval of the Secretary of State.
