Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Temporary Prohibition or Restriction of Traffic

Victoria Road – Stanford Le Hope

1) The Borough Council of Thurrock, in exercise of their powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other powers, has made an Order the effect of which is to: -

Prohibit any vehicle from egressing Victoria Road at its junction with Southend Road.

Prohibit any vehicles from travelling westbound along the Slip Road from Southend Road to Manorway.   

   

2) The purpose of the Order is to enable Tamdown Group Limited to carry out carriageway resurfacing along with highway improvement works.                             

3) The alternative route for northbound vehicles egressing Victoria Road is southbound on Victoria Road, London Road eastbound, King Street and Southend Road. For southbound vehicles the alternative route will be Southend Road southbound, High Street, The Green, Church Hill, London Road, and Victoria Road.  The alternative route for vehicles travelling westbound on the Manorway off slip will be The Manorway, Manorway Interchange, The Manorway eastbound, The Manorway Southend Road Link Eastbound, Dunstable Roundabout, and Southend Road southbound.

4) The Order will come into force on Monday 18th November 2024 at 08:00hrs. Works are currently scheduled to take place between Monday 18th November 2024 and Friday 22nd November 2024 and remain in force continuously. Exact dates however will always be specified on https://one.network/?tmi=GB34770104 , It only applies to those days and times when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.  

5) It is expected that the works will be completed within the above times, however the Order will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.

6) If the works are not completed within 18 months, the Order may be extended for a longer period with the approval of the Secretary of State.
