Nearly three-quarters of pupils who are expected to begin secondary school in Thurrock this September have been offered their top school choice.
Results announced today (Wednesday 1 March) revealed that 73.5% of students will be able to attend their most preferred school, with 88.7% of children being allocated one of their top 3 preferences.
Cllr Barry Johnson, Cabinet Member for Education, said: "Children's services have once again worked incredibly hard to offer school places to over 2,400 young people across Thurrock who are making the exciting move up to secondary school.
"Nearly 9 out of every 10 children in Thurrock are receiving one of their top 3 choices, which is a tremendous achievement as we work towards placing as many children in local schools as possible.
"If you applied online for a secondary school place, you can use the council's online system today to check which school place has been offered. For applicants who did not apply online, you will soon receive an offer letter by post.
"I wish all our young people the best of luck as they continue their educational journey and continue to learn, develop and achieve in Thurrock."
Parents who have applied for primary school places starting in September 2023 will receive their school offer on Monday 17 April 2023.
