Last week (Thursday 21 November), Thurrock Council's Road Safety Team were joined by Essex Police at Benyon Primary School in South Ockendon to teach pupils about road safety.
School Crossing Patrol Officers wore vibrant uniforms with 'Stop Means Stop' messaging to remind drivers of their responsibility when encountering school crossing patrols.
Year Five pupils were accompanied by an Essex Police Officer to take part in a school speed watch event outside of the school on West Road, South Ockendon to check for potential speeding offenders.
Offenders who were caught speeding were given the option of a fine or the opportunity to talk to the pupils about the dangers of speeding.
