Please will you advise the number of cycle stands that are currently managed by Thurrock Borough Council
Latest cycle parking records held by the council show 181 on public highways or Council owned land (this assumes that the query on number of cycle stands refers to any type of equipment dedicated to cycle parking and includes different type of stands (standard Sheffield, A-profile, W-profile, elongated, etc.), planters, hoops, wheel enders, and structures that can hold several bikes (splitting them by the number of fixing features)). Surveys to produce these records were carried out between November 2020 and May 2021 and are compiled on the South Essex Cycling & Walking Network Review, 2022.
Can you also please advise how many bikes were stolen from the cycle stands that you manage :
1. In the period 1st January 2022 to 31st December 2022, and
2. In the period 1st January 2023 to 31st December 2023.
The Council has not received any reports of bikes stolen in these two periods from cycle parking equipment within the Council’s remit and has no records on this subject. Although it is likely that bike stolen reports are made directly to Essex Police.
