ASC and CSC Procurement

Request: 

I am writing to submit a formal request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Specifically, I am seeking details related to your council's procurement and expenditures in social care. I kindly request the following information:
•    The total number of care packages awarded to agencies for adult social care and child social care services between January 1 and June 30.
•    The current number of suppliers or agencies categorized under Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 within your procurement framework for adult social care services and then children social care services.
•    The anticipated dates when the council plans to next go to market for the procurement of social care services, separately for adults and children.
•    The name of the framework being used to source suppliers for adult and child social care services, including complex care, mental health, and learning disabilities.
•    The expected date when your framework will be available for bidding, and where suppliers can access the bidding opportunity.
•    Confirmation of whether the council uses the RM6281 Workforce Alliance framework.
•    Confirmation of whether the council uses the HealthTrust Europe Total Workforce framework.
•    The name and contact information of the responsible officer and department overseeing the procurement of social care services for the council.

Response: 

• The total number of care packages awarded to agencies for adult social care and child social care services between January 1 and June 30.

  • ASC: A total of 108 adults had a homecare service commissioned with a start date between 1st January 2024 to 30th June 2024.
  • CSC: 72 clients using agencies. 22 of those were newly commissioned between Jan-Jun 24

• The current number of suppliers or agencies categorized under Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 within your procurement framework for adult social care services and then children social care services.

  • ACS - We do not commission according to tiers
  • CSC – We do not commission according to tiers.

Currently the council does not have a procurement framework agreement for adult and child social care services.

• The anticipated dates when the council plans to next go to market for the procurement of social care services, separately for adults and children.

  • ASC & CSC:  These can be located on the contracts register on the councils’ internet page.

ASC & CSC – The council has not sourced complex care, mental health, and learning disabilities services via a framework agreement.
