Request:

For the past few weeks, Thurrock Council have used many different channels, including but not limited to Facebook and Instagram.

How much money does it take to educate residents about a change like this one? The graphics, the copy, the posting. Plus any print advertising, leaflets etc.

Response:

In regard to the leaflets sent to all Residents to advise about the waste collection changes - printing cost were £23,105. Delivery was £13,400+vat so overall: £36,504

All copy and media was produced in house at no additional cost to the council. This includes all digital and social media posts.

The cost of printing and distributing information packs to every house in the borough was £39,105. This was the only cost incurred by the council to educate residents about changes to household bin collections.
